Intertextual characteristics of the 18th century German scientific texts: Evidence from Johann Christoph Gottsched's works

Abstract

В настоящей работе рассматривается явление интертекстуальности как неотъемлемая составляющая научных текстов. Проблемами межтекстовых связей занимались крупнейшие учёные в области языка: Ю. Кристева, Р. Барт, Ж. Женетт, М. Ю. Лотман, И. В. Арнольд и др. Принимая во внимание тот факт, что интертекстуальность является важнейшим текстообразующим элементом в научных текстах, а также отражает диалогическое взаимодействие между ними, мы постарались проработать теоретическую основу, необходимую для лингвистического исследования данной проблемы. В соответствии с этим базисом мы выявили интертекстуальные особенности, присущие немецкому научному дискурсу XVIII в., на материале трудов И. К. Готшеда.

The linguistic phenomenon «intertextuality» as an inseparable component of the scientific texts is reviewed in this thesis. Outstanding linguists and writers J. Kristeva, R. Barthes, G. Genette, Y. M. Lotman, I. V. Arnold etc. focused on this problem. Taking into consideration the fact that intertextuality is the most important text – forming element in the scientific works and reflects the dialogic interaction between them, we have made an attempt to work over the theoretical foundations which are necessary for the linguistic research of this problem. According to this theoretical basis we revealed the intertextual particularities peculiar to the german academic discourse of the eighteenth century, on the materials of J. C. Gottsched’s works.
