Early stages of development of twins' nominal morphology: A case study in the Russian language

Abstract

В работе рассматривается процесс усвоения именной морфологии русскоговорящими детьми-близнецами. Объектом исследования стала спонтанная речь в возрасте от 2 до 2;5 лет и обращенная к ним речь взрослых. Материалом послужили видеозаписи и расшифровки речи близнецов и их родителей, закодированные в системе CHILDES. С помощью пакета программ CLAN выполнялся анализ их речевого взаимодействия: оценивалась длина высказывания, богатство лексикона, склонность к имитации, а также определялся период, в которой происходит усвоение категории числа и падежа имен существительных.

The work deals with the process of acquisition of nominal morphology by Russian-speaking twin children .The object of the study is the spontaneous speech of twins aged 2 to 2, 5 years and the speech of adults addressed to them. The material is the videotaped and decoded speech of a pair of Russian-speaking twin girls and their parents, encoded in the CHILDES system. The analysis of the speech interaction was performed using the CLAN software: the length of the statement, the richness of the lexicon, the tendency to imitate were evaluated, and the period in which the category of number and the category of case were mastered was determined.
