Pre-editing and post-editing of the text for machine translation: The analysis of translation of various documents in machine translation programmes

Abstract

Данная работа направлена на анализ процессов предредактирования и постредактирования технических текстов с французского на русский и с русского на французский в процессе машинного перевода. Главная цель работы – выяснить, может ли процесс предредакции повлиять на конечный результат перевода и всегда ли существует необходимость его использования. Актуальность работы обусловлена анализом целого ряда проблем, перед которыми стоит современный переводчик-постредактор, работающий с русским и французским языками. Материалами для данного исследования послужили тексты инструкций и договоров на двух языках, а также программы машинного перевода PROMT 12 Pro и Google Translate. В качестве теоретической базы были использованы работы российских и зарубежных исследователей в области автоматизации перевода. Данная работа состоит из введения, двух глав, заключения и приложений.

This paper is aimed to analyze the processes of pre-editing and post-editing of technical texts from French to Russian and from Russian to French in the machine translation process. The main goal of the work is to find out whether the pre-editing process can influence the final result of the translation and whether we always need to use it. The relevance of this paper is due to the analysis of a number of problems, which are faced by a modern translator-post-editor, working with Russian and French languages. Materials for this study were texts of instructions and contracts in two languages, as well as machine translation programs PROMT 12 Pro and Google Translate. Works of Russian and foreign researchers in the field of automation of translation was used as a theoretical basis. This paper consists of introduction, two chapters, conclusion and annexes.
