An analysis of English loan words used in French to denote fashion

Abstract

Данная выпускная квалификационная работа посвящена анализу употребления англицизмов французского языка в области моды. Теоретическая глава включает в себя две части, в первой части речь идет о понятии заимствования, причинах их появления и их классификации, вторая часть посвящена англицизмам, помимо понятия, диахронической классификации и сфер их употребления, затрагивается тема ассимиляции англицизмов во французском языке, также приводятся мнения лингвистов о процессе заимствования из английского языка. В практической части объясняется влияние англицизмов на язык моды, рассматриваются причины заимствований, приводятся классификации выбранных терминов из каталогов и книг о моде, анализируется употребления англицизмов в области моды. В приложении приводится словарь терминов моды с объяснениями понятий, их эквивалентами на французском языке и переводом на русский язык.

This final qualification paper is devoted to analysis of the use of Anglicisms of French language in the field of fashion. The theoretical chapter includes two parts: the first part of which deals with the notion of borrowings, their causes and classification; the second part is devoted to Anglicisms, in addition to concept, diachronic classification and their areas of use, a theme of Anglicisms’ assimilation in French is affected, Linguists’ opinions on the process of borrowing from the English language is also given. The practical part explains the influence of Anglicisms on the language of fashion, examines the reasons for borrowings and categorizes the selected terms from catalogs and books of fashion, analyses the Anglicisms’ use in the field of fashion. The annex contains introductory dictionary of fashion terms, with explanations of their concepts, their equivalents in French and translation into Russian.
