Cultural context rendering in translation of fiction

Abstract

Данная работа посвящена исследованию различных проблем, связанных с передачей культурного контекста при переводе художественного произведения и способов их решения. Исследование проводилось на материале датской художественной литературы и ее переводов на русский язык. В работе рассмотрены некоторые теоретические положения переводоведения и лингвокультурологии. Практический материал, отобранный методом сплошной выборки, проанализирован в следующих аспектах: перевод реалий, перевод имен собственных, перевод терминов. На основании подробного анализа переводческих методов в каждом из текстов в работе выводится заключение о характере перевода - осваивающем (то есть переносящим реалии страны исходного языка в культурное пространство страны языка перевода) или отчуждающем (то есть переносящем читателя в культурное пространство страны исходного языка). В заключительной главе проводится сравнительный анализ подходов к решению различных переводческих задач в исследуемых текстах.

The paper is dedicated to the research of various problems connected to the cultural context rendering in translation of fiction and their solutions. The research is based on the material of Danish fiction and its Russian translations. The work deal with some of the theoretical points of translation science and linguistic culture science. Practical material collected from continuous sample is analyzed from the following angles: translation of realities, proper names and terms. Through the detailed analysis of translation methods the research allows to draw conclusions about the type of translation: either adapting (which means bringing the realities of the source country to the cultural space of translation country), or alienating (moving readers into the cultural space of the source country). The final section included comparative analysis of various ways of problem solving in the given texts.
