Specific features of medieval Jewish translations of the Bible into Spanish

Abstract

В работе идет речь о средневековых рукописях, содержащих перевод Библии на испанский язык. Большинство дошедших до наших дней рукописей было переведено с еврейского оригинала, и они представляют собой очень интересный материал для изучения для многих отраслей филологии и лингвистики. Целью работы является систематизация рукописей и переводов, сравнение переводов с древнееврейского и выявление целей их создания. Работу мы начинаем с рассказа об общей исторической картине создания практически всех сохранившихся рукописей (за исключением нескольких фрагментарных списков), затем мы составляем их классификацию и переходим к подробному описанию еврейских переводов. В отдельном разделе мы говорим о сравнительных характеристиках разных переводов, а в следующем разделе детально рассказываем о Библии Альбы. В заключительном разделе мы пытаемся перечислить все доступные на настоящий момент сведения и теории о предназначении библейских переводов в средние века, когда они были под строжайшим запретом инквизиции. Работа посвящена вопросу, практически не освященному в русской научной литературе. Мы опирались на актуальные и авторитетные исследования, стараясь наиболее полно отразить релевантные сведения об испанских средневековых библейских переводах.

The thesis is devoted to medieval manuscripts that contain the Bible translations into Spanish. Most extant manuscripts were translated from the Hebrew original, and they represent a very interesting material for study for many branches of philology and linguistics. The aim of the thesis is to systematize manuscripts and translations, compare translations from Hebrew and identify the purposes of their creation. The work starts with a narration about general historical picture of the creation of almost all surviving manuscripts (with the exception of several fragmentary lists), then classifies them and proceeds to a detailed description of the Jewish translations. A separate section describes the comparative characteristics of different Jewish translations, and the next section is devoted to the Bible of Alba. The final section presents all available information and theories about the purpose of biblical translations in the Middle Ages, the time when they were strictly forbidden by the Inquisition. The work is devoted to a question that is practically not represented in the Russian scientific literature. We relied on relevant and authoritative studies, trying to reflect the most pertinent information about Spanish medieval Bible translations.
