Grammatical analysis of German language translations of subordinate clauses with the conjunction “that”: A case study of articles from resource Dekoder

Abstract

В данной работе рассматриваются придаточные предложения с союзом "что" и их варианты перевода на немецкий язык, приводится анализ теоретической литературы по вопросам использования и функционирования придаточных предложений в русском и немецком языках, устанавливается их взаимосвязь, затрагивается теория трансформации. Представлена классификация вариантов перевода предложений с союзом "что", проводится анализ конкретных способов перевода.

This paper focuses on the subordinate clauses introduced by the conjunction 'that' and some variants of their translation. Theoretical literature on the problems of usage and functioning of subordinate clauses in Russian and German is analysed and the connection between them is identified. Theory of transformation is also considered. A classification that demonstrates the variants of translation of such clauses and an analysis of particular translation procedures is presented.
