Rendering of the Hebraic grammatical category Infinitivus Absolutus in the Septuagint

Abstract

В выпускной квалификационной работе исследуется, каким образом в Септуагинте передаётся абсолютный инфинитив, древнееврейская грамматическая категория, не имеющая аналогов в древнегреческом языке. Автор выделяет три основных способа перевода, пытается обосновать выбор переводчиков в той или иной книге греческого перевода Священного Писания, попутно давая комментарий заслуживающим, по его мнению, местам. Статистический анализ показывает, что Пятикнижие и поэтические книги различаюся в том, какой наиболее излюбленный способ перевода абсолютного инфинитива используется.

It is examined in this graduation thesis ways by means of which the absolute infinitive, a grammatical category of classical Hebrew that has no analogy within the ancient Greek language, is rendered in Septuagint. The Author has determined three main ways, tried to give reasons for tranlators' chooses in certain books of the Greek translation of the Holy Scripture. He has also given commentaries to places that are worth looking at to his mind. Statistic analysis has shown that the Pentateuch and poetic books have differences in the matter which the most favorable way for translation of the absolute infinitive is used.
