Metalinguistic characteristics of Mikhail Lomonosov's "Russian Grammar" (1757) and its German translation ("Rußische Grammatick", 1764)

Abstract

Данное исследование посвящено анализу метаязыковых особенностей научного текста на материале «Российской грамматики» (1957) М. В. Ломоносова и ее перевода на немецкий язык, выполненного в 1964 году Л. Стафенгагеном. Особое внимание обращается на построение метаязыковой структуры текста. При этом сопоставительный анализ метаязыковых особенностей русского и немецкого текстов проводится на всех языковых уровнях. Материал исследования обуславливает специфику анализа: проводится сравнение двух текстов не только на основании переводческого аспекта, учитываются также особенности научного дискурса эпохи Просвещения, как в России, так и в Германии.

This research is dedicated to the analysis of metalinguistic features of a scientific text based on M. V. Lomonosov's "Russian Grammar" (1957) and its translation into German, made by L. Staffengagen in 1964. Particular attention is drawn to the construction of a metalinguistic structure of a text. At the same time, the analysis of the metalanguage is made at all linguistic levels in comparison of Russian and German texts. The material of the study determines the specifics of the analysis: two texts are compared not only on the basis of a translation aspect - specifics of a scientific discourse of the Enlightenment, both in Russia and in Germany, are also considered.
