Translations of the Soviet literary texts: A case study of Spanish translations of Boris Pilnyak's "The Tale of the Unextinguished Moon"

Выпускная квалификационная работа посвящена теме особенностей перевода советских художественных текстов на примере двух испанских переводов «Повести непогашенной луны» Б. Пильняка. Цель данной работы — исследование проблем перевода советских художественных текстов, предложение возможных решений этих проблем, а также анализ темпоральной адаптации при переводе на испанский язык на базе испанского перевода «Повести непогашенной луны» Б. Пильняка. Прежде всего, мы рассмотрели проблемы, с которыми может столкнуться переводчик переводчик при переводе не современных ему русских художественных текстов. Выполнив теоретическую часть исследования, мы также проанализировали приемы темпоральной адаптации в переводах повести Бориса Пильняка и определили, какие переводческие трансформации чаще всего использовались при описании советских реалий. В работе мы выделяем из русского текста нужную лексику, распределяем ее по нескольким категориям и анализируем перевод выделенной лексики с точки зрения переводческих трансформаций. Дипломная работа может послужить основой для дальнейших лингвистических исследований проблем перевода советской литературы.

Abstract

The thesis is devoted to examining the specific features of the translation of Soviet literary texts using two Spanish translations of "The Tale of the Unextinguished Moon" by B. Pilnyak as an example. The object is to find out how Spanish translators cope with the problems of temporal adaptation by determining which translation transformations are most commonly used when translating Soviet texts into Spanish. To start with, we have considered various kinds of issues that a translator may face when translating Russian texts into a foreign language and describe the solutions. Having done the theoretical part of the research, we also analyzed the techniques of temporal adaptation in translations of B. Pilnyak's short story and recognized which translation transformations were most frequently used when describing Soviet realities. We highlight the vocabulary we need in the Russian version of the book, which reflects the realities of Soviet period, and we analyze how this vocabulary is translated from the perspective of translation transformations. This degree paper can be used for further research in the field of problems of translation of Soviet literature.
