Jargon in oil and gas industry (a case study of modern professionally oriented press)

Abstract

Настоящая работа посвящена изучению использования в современной специализированной прессе профессиональных жаргонизмов у сотрудников, работающих в нефтегазовой сфере. Актуальность данной работы обусловлена тем, что стремительные темпы развития современного общества обусловливают все более активное использование в речи различных социальных групп таких языковых феноменов, которые не входят в состав эталонного литературного языка. В ходе анализа были достигнуты следующие результаты: выполнено разграничение понятий «жаргон» и «профессиональный жаргонизм», исследована профессиональная коммуникация в нефтегазовой отрасли, выполнен обзор современной специализированной прессы, проведено подробное исследование профессиональных жаргонизмов в специализированной прессе. Исследование проводилось на базе специализированных нефтегазовых журналов. В ходе данного исследования было выявлено, что профессиональный жаргон является неотъемлемой частью профессиональной коммуникации.

The Master Thesis is devoted to the investigation of professional jargon usage among employees working in the oil and gas sector. The data and materials for the present research were found in the modern specialized press. The relevance of this work stems from the fact that the rapid pace of development of modern society leads to an increasingly active use by various social groups of such linguistic phenomena that can't be considered as a part of the standard literary language. During the analysis, the following results were achieved: a distinction was made between the concepts of "jargon" and "professional jargon", professional communication in the oil and gas industry was studied, a review of modern specialized press was made, a detailed study of professional jargon in the specialized press was carried out. The study was conducted on the basis of specialized oil and gas journals. In the course of this study, it was revealed that professional jargon is an integral part of professional communication.
