The use of mood after the negative form of declarative verbs (a case study of modern French press and journals of the National Assembly)

Abstract

В выпускной квалификационной работе на тему «Употребление наклонений после декларативных глаголов в отрицательной форме (на материале современной французской прессы и протоколов заседаний Национальной ассамблеи)» проводится анализ использования наклонений в дополнительных придаточных после декларативных глаголов affirmer, dire, prétendre в отрицательной форме. В первой главе рассматриваются основные точки зрения на систему наклонений во французском языке, особенности исследуемых конструкций с декларативными глаголами и существующая в современном французском языке норма в употреблении наклонений после них. Во второй главе изучается специфика соответствующей коммуникативной ситуации и способы представления информации в связи с выбором наклонения после исследуемых управляющих структур. Результатом работы является вывод о соблюдении/несоблюдении нормы, причинах чередования наклонений и наличии зависимости между наклонением и коммуникативной интенцией говорящего для каждой из рассматриваемых конструкций.

This final qualification paper presents the analysis of the use of moods in the dependent clauses after the negative form of the declarative verbs affirmer, dire, prétendre. The text material for this work was gathered from the modern French press and the minutes of the National Assembly discussions. The final qualification paper consists of two parts. The first one deals with the theoretical basics on the mood system in French, the functioning of constructions with declarative verbs and the norm existing in modern French in the use of moods after them. The second part studies the reasons for the alternation of moods after the studied structures with declarative verbs and the correlation between the choice of mood in the dependent clause and the peculiarities of the communicative situation and the speaker’s intention. As a result, the paper makes a conclusion about compliance / non-compliance with the norm and the presence of correlation between the mood and the communicative intention of the speaker for each considered construction and declarative verb.
