Semantic and syntactic aspects of the prepositions of relation in Modern French

Abstract

В выпускной квалификационной работе на тему «Семантическо-синтаксические условия употребления предлогов отношения в современном французском языке» рассматриваются ранее не описанные в лингвистической литературе условия функционирования предлогов envers, à l’égard de, vis-à-vis de в современном французском языке. В работе описываются модели синтаксической и семантической сочетаемости каждого предлога, которые были выявлены на основе контекстуально-дистрибутивного анализа употреблений названных предлогов в письменной речи. Результатом работы является определение функциональных возможностей предлогов envers, vis-à-vis de, à l’égard de. Полученные результаты могут быть использованы при обучении французскому языку как иностранному и при создании программ искусственной обработки языка (в т.ч. для автоматического перевода). Также они могут послужить материалом для исследований, посвященных проблеме наличия собственного лексического значения у предлогов.

This final qualification paper "Semantic and syntactic conditions of the use of relational prepositions in modern French" is devoted to the previously undescribed conditions of the use of relational prepositions in modern French. The work describes the patterns of syntactic and semantic combinability of each preposition, which have been identified on the basis of the contextual-distinctive analysis of the use of the prepositions named in the written speech. The result of the work is the identification of the functional aspects of the prepositions envers, vis-à-vis de, à l'égard de. The results obtained can be used in teaching French as a foreign language and in creating language processing programs (including automatic translation). They can also serve as material for research on the problem of prepositions having their own lexical meaning.
