Linguostylistic characteristics of Richard Wagner's libretto to the opera "The Flying Dutchman"

Abstract

Настоящая работа посвящена анализу текста либретто Р. Вагнера к его опере «Летучий голландец» с точки зрения лингвостилистики. Основным материалом исследования послужили сольные высказывания главных героев, а также диалоги и полилоги, в которых принимают участие главные персонажи оперы. В первой главе рассматриваются теоретические положения, такие как: краткая история создания оперы и первоисточник ее либретто, особенности либретто как типа текста и характерные для него лингвостилистические черты. Во второй главе проводится анализ выбранных фрагментов либретто оперы «Летучий голландец» с точки зрения лингвостилистики. Результатам, полученным в ходе исследования, посвящен отдельный раздел. Общий объем работы составляет 95 с.

This thesis is dedicated to the analysis of the libretto of “The Flying Dutchman” written by R. Wagner to his opera from the linguostilisctical point of view. The basic material of the research is solo sayings of the main characters and also dialogs and polylogs in which they take part. The first chapter contains theoretical information such as the short history of the creation of the opera and the fountainhead of its libretto, characteristics of libretto as the type of text and its linguostilisctical features. In the second chapter the analysis of the chosen pieces of the libretto of “The Flying Dutchman” is made from the linguostilisctical point of view. The results of the research are represented in a separate section. The full volume of the thesis is 95 p.
