Lexical transformations as a means of the UN documents translation

Abstract

Выпускная квалификационная работа посвящена исследованию лексических трансформаций как средства перевода официальных документов ООН. Актуальность данной работы определяется востребованностью современных исследований применения трансформационной модели перевода при работе с текстами официальных документов. Цель исследования заключается в выявлении закономерностей применения основных типов лексических трансформаций при переводе текстов ООН. К задачам относится рассмотрение основных способов перевода, выявление лексических особенностей официальных документов ООН, а также типов лексических трансформаций, применяемых при переводе документов ООН. Материалом исследования послужили 149 фрагментов текстов ООН на английском и русском языках. В результате проведенного исследования были выявлены и описаны наиболее частотные лексические трансформации, а также определены количественные параметры применения всех выявленных типов трансформаций. Результаты проведенного исследования могут найти применение в практической деятельности переводчиков.

The final qualification work is devoted to the study of lexical transformations as a means of the UN documents translation. The relevance of this work is determined by the demand for modern research on the use of the transformational model of translation when working with the texts of official documents. The purpose of the study is to identify the patterns of application of the main types of lexical transformations in the translation of UN texts. The tasks include the consideration of the main methods of translation, the identification of lexical features of official UN documents, as well as the types of lexical transformations used in the translation of UN documents. The study material includes 149 fragments of UN texts in English and Russian. As a result of the conducted research, the most frequent lexical transformations were identified and described, as well as the quantitative parameters of the use of all the identified types of transformations were determined. The results of the conducted research can be applied in the practical activities of translators.
