Poetological constant visual narrative transference strategy in Ivan Turgenev's "Sketches from a Hunter's Album" translation into Portuguese

Abstract

Объектом исследования послужили вербальные средства русского и португальского языков в цикле И.С. Тургенева «Записки охотника», которые способствуют созданию визуальных образов. Предметом исследования является переводческая интерпретация, формы и способы передачи визуальной константы, а также трудности, возникающие при переводе лексических изобразительных средств с русского языка на португальский. Выпускная квалификационная работа состоит из введения, трёх глав и заключения. Во введении раскрывается актуальность исследования, ставится проблема, цель и задачи исследования, определяются объект, предмет научных поисков, ставятся цель и задачи, указывается теоретическая база исследования, его практическая значимость. В первой главе приводится краткая история создания цикла «Записки охотника», история переводов исследуемого произведения, история восприятия русской литературы в Бразилии, аспекты поэтики И.С. Тургенева, а также даётся основная характеристика его творческого стиля и особенности произведения, имеющего типологические черты «физиологического очерка». Во второй и третьей главах производится анализ наиболее релевантных примеров вербальных средств, которые способствуют созданию визуального образа. Отобранные примеры из наиболее характерных рассказов разделены на две категории: словесный пейзаж и вербализация внешнего облик. В заключении подводятся итоги исследования, обобщаются рассмотренные выше аспекты, даются основные выводы по выбору переводческой стратегии передачи элементов визуального нарратива на португальский язык на основе цикла «Записки охотника» Тургенева. Объём работы составляет 61 страницу. При написании исследования использовалось 37 источников.

Object of research is served by verbal means of Russian and Portuguese languages in I.S.Turgenev’s shot story cycle “Sketches from a Hunter's Album” which are conducive to the making of the visual representation. Subject of research is the translator’s interpretation, forms and means of the visual constant as well as difficulties coming up during the translation of the lexical figurative means from Russian into Portuguese. This study consists of Introduction, three chapters and Conclusion. Introduction gives an idea of the research urgency, the problem, the goal and the task of the research. The object and the subject of the study as well as the theoretical background and practical implications are also described in this part. Part one covers the survey of the origin of a shot story cycle “Sketches from a Hunter's Album”, its translation history, the history of the perception of Russian literature in Brazil, some aspects of I.S. Turgenev’s poetics and the main characteristic of his creative style, his work features related to “physiological essay”. Part Two and Part Three contain the analyses of the most relevant examples of the verbal means used for the creating of the visual representation. Selected examples taken from the most typical shot stories are divided into two categories: the verbal landscape and the verbalization of the appearance. Conclusion summarizes the results of the research and generalizes the aspects described above, focuses on the main conclusions concerning the translation strategy of the visual narrative elements from Russian into Portuguese on the base of I.S.Turgenev’s shot story cycle “Sketches from a Hunter's Album”. The paper numbers sixty-one pages. Thirty-seven sources were used while writing.
