Use of vocatives and forms of address in modern Spanish in the context of the category of politeness

Abstract

Настоящая работа посвящена исследованию обращений и изучению особенностей их употребления в контексте категории вежливости в испанском языке. Недостаточная степень изученности обращений с точки зрения коммуникативной вежливости обуславливают актуальность исследования вокативов и форм адресации именно в контексте категории вежливости. В ходе работы исследуется природа обращения, анализируются его различные аспекты и выбор форм обращения в коммуникации, а также предлагается систематизация средств выражения обращения с точки зрения коммуникативной вежливости. Кроме того, в исследовании рассматривается употребление обращений относительно различных стратегий вежливости. Языковым материалом для исследования служат фрагменты, содержащие обращения, выбранные из текстов испаноязычных пьес конца XX и начала XXI веков таких авторов, как М. Вейга (M. Veiga), Ф. Кабаль (F. Cabal), Ж. Санчис Синистерра (J. Sanchis Sinisterra), Ж. Гальсеран (J. Galcerán), Х. И. Кабрухас (J. I. Cabrujas). Результаты исследования могут применяться на практических занятиях испанского языка.

The present paper is dedicated to the study of vocatives and forms of address as well as the peculiarities of their use as the means of expressing politeness in the Spanish language. The insufficient extent of the study of vocatives within the context of the category of communicative politeness makes the investigation of vocatives and forms of address relevant as the means of expressing politeness. In the study the nature of vocatives is investigated and its various aspects and the choice of forms of address are analyzed. Moreover, the systematization of the means of expressing vocatives as communicative politeness is offered. In addition, in the investigation, the use of vocatives and forms of address are examined in accordance with various strategies of politeness. The language material for the study is the fragments containing vocatives and forms of address chosen from the Spanish-language plays of the end of the XX and the beginning of the XXI centuries of such writers as M. Veiga, F. Cabal, J. Sanchis Sinisterra, J. Galcerán, J. I. Cabrujas. These studies can be applied in practical classes of the Spanish language.
