Language of Anna Zontag's stories for children: Peculiarities of texts for reading aloud

Abstract

Настоящее исследование посвящено выявлению особенностей языка детских повестей А.П. Зонтаг, предназначенных для чтения вслух. Материалом к работе послужили 10 произведений из 1-ого тома «Собрания детских повестей для первого возраста»: «Лиловый горшочек», «Две сливы», «Обиженный осёл», «Несчастный день», «Снигирь», «Риволета», «Заноза», «Гиацинты», «Кролик», а также «Подарок в день рождения». Все они были рассмотрены на трёх, наиболее показательных в данном отношении, уровнях языка: лексическом, синтаксическом и словообразовательном. Выделенные языковые признаки были соотнесены с функциями детской литературы, для того чтобы показать их роль в рассматриваемых текстах. Анализ языка показал, что основным фактором отбора языкового материала для писателя являлась ориентация на слушателя-ребенка. Автор должен был учитывать его когнитивный потенциал и создавать тексты, соответствующие уровню развития своего адресата, т.е. очень легкие для восприятия, но в то же время воспитательно обогащающие ребенка. Работа состоит из: 1) оглавления; 2) введения; 3) основной части, включающей в себя две главы, первая из которых несёт основную информацию об особенностях языка детской литературы XIX века и возникновении традиции ежедневного чтения вслух, повлиявшей на творчество А.П.Зонтаг, а вторая содержит прагматический анализ повестей писательницы, в ходе которого вычленяются те особенности её текстов, которые способствуют их лёгкому восприятию на слух; 4) заключения; 5) списка использованной литературы, который включает в себя 69 источников (с учетом словарей).

This study is devoted to the identification of linguistic features of A. P. Zontag's children's stories, intended for reading aloud. The materials for the work are 10 stories from the 1st volume of "Collections of Children's Stories for the First Age". They are «Lilovyj gorshochek», «Dve slivy», «Obizhennyj osyol», «Neschastnyj den», «Snigir», «Rivoleta», «Zanoza», «Giacinty», «Krolik» and «Podarok v den rozhdeniya». All of them were examined on three, the most indicative in this respect, language levels: lexical, syntactic and word-building. Dedicated language features were correlated with the functions of children's literature in order to show their roles in the texts. The analysis of the language showed that the basic factor for the selection of material for the writer was the orientation toward the listener-child. The author had to take into account his cognitive potential and create texts corresponding to the levels of development of his addressee, i.e. very easy to perceive, but at the same time educationally enriching. The work consists of: 1) a table of contents; 2) introduction; 3) the main parts, which includes two chapters, the first of which has the basic information about the features of the language of children's literature of the XIX century and the emerging of tradition of daily reading out loud, and the second of which contains a pragmatic analysis of the stories; 4) a conclusion; 5) list of used literature, which includes 69 sources (including dictionaries).
