Distance learning self-educational resources for schoolchildren and students in Korea: A case study of video lectures on the Russian language

Abstract

В данной работе рассмотрен вопрос мотивации к дистанционному самообразованию для корейских школьников и студентов. В 2004 году в Республике Корея появился первый государственный ресурс с видео-лекциями. Поставленная цель — решить проблему образовательного неравенства, возникшего из-за региональных различий. В первой части работы анализируются актуальные научные статьи и исследования в области дистанционного образования (на примере изучения иностранного языка). Во второй части данной работы было проведено анкетирование для корейских школьников и студентов и разработан статистический анализ данных анкет. Представлены разные цели использования видео-лекций студентов. По результату проведенного статистического анализа можно сделать вывод о том, что, эффективность онлайн лекций определяется прежде всего уровнем квалификации педагога-лектора и структурой видео-лекций. Ответы корейских школьников и студентов позволили автору предложить в качестве одного из положений работы образовательный проект южнокорейских учителей. Предлагаемый проект создания образовательного видео контента «Ты-суперучитель», повышающий конкурентоспособность онлайн ресурсов и предполагающий консультирование преподавателей при планировании содержания онлайн лекций по русскому языку.

In this paper, the author dealt with the motivation of distance self-education for Korean schoolchildren and students. In 2004, the first government video lecture resources appeared in the Republic of Korea. The goal is to solve the problem of educational inequality due to regional differences. In the first part of the work, current scientific articles and studies in the field of distance education are analyzed (for example studying a foreign language). In the second part of this work, a survey was conducted for Korean schoolchildren and students and a statistical analysis of the questionnaires was processed. Students’ different purposes of using video lectures are presented. The result of the statistical analysis can be concluded that, the effectiveness of online lectures is determined primarily by the qualification of the lecturer and the structure of video lectures. The answers of Korean schoolchildren and students allowed the author to offer, as one of the provisions of the work, educational project of South Korean teachers. The proposed project "You are a super-teacher" – creating educational video content – increases the competitiveness of online resources and involves consulting planning the content of online lectures on the Russian language to teachers.
