Environmental lobbying in the United States of America

Abstract

В данной работе автор анализирует специфические особенности лоббизма в сфере защиты окружающей среды в США. В первой главе автор рассматривает теоретические основы лоббизма и групп интересов, этапы формирования эколого-политических отношений в мире и, как следствие, актуализацию экологического лоббизма, а также сущность и характерные особенности данного института. Вторая глава посвящена изучению истоков и масштабов данного явления в США, описанию различных технологий, используемых экологическими группами интересов для воздействия на власть в США, а также анализу конкретного кейса по лоббизму в сфере природоохранной деятельности в этой стране. Экологический лоббизм является довольно молодым инструментом репрезентации интересов в общественно-политических отношениях, однако, он имеет глубокие корни и серьезные масштабы этого процесса в современных США.

In this article the author analyzes the specific features of lobbying in the sphere of environmental protection in the USA. In the first chapter the author examines the theoretical basis of lobbying and interest groups, the stages of the formation of environmental and political relations in the world and, as a result, the actualization of environmental lobbying and also the essence and the outstanding characteristics of this institution. The second chapter is devoted to the studying of the beginnings and the scopes of this phenomenon in the United States, the description of the various techniques that usually used by the environmental interest groups to influence on the government of the United States, and also the analysis of a specific lobbying case in the sphere of the conservation activities in this country. Environmental lobbying is a rather young instrument of the representation of interests in socio-political relations, but it has deep roots and serious scopes of this process in the modern US.
