English phraseological units translated into Serbian and Russian as illustrated by Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland"

Abstract

АННОТАЦИЯ выпускной квалификационной работы по лингвистике Куликовой Ярославы Дмитриевны. "Английские фразеологизмы в переводе на сербский и русский языки (на материале произведения Л. Кэрролла "Алиса в стране чудес"" Данная выпускная квалификационная работа посвящена исследованию перевода фразеологических единиц с английского на сербский и русский языки на материале произведения Л. Кэрролла "Приключения Алисы в стране чудес". Целью данной работы является выявление сходств и различий планов выражения и планов содержания английских, сербских и русских фразеологизмов, использованных в оригинальном тексте повести и ее переводах. В работе также представлены различные виды переводческих методов и приемов. Данная выпускная работа состоит из Введения, теоретической части (Глава 1), практической части (Глава 2), Заключения, Списка использованной литературы и Приложения. Во Введение приведены краткие сведения о повести "Приключения Алисы в Стране Чудес", указаны тематика, объект и цели исследования, а также определены актуальность и практическая ценность работы. Глава 1 является теоретической базой данной работы и представляет собой обзор исследований в области фразеологии и описание разных подходов к определению фразеологизмов, их признаков, функций и классификаций. В Главе 2 определены критерии отнесения нами тех или иных выражений к фразеологии и произведен анализ выбранных из повести Л. Кэрролла 22 английских устойчивых сочетаний с точки зрения их семантической слитности. Также в данной главе рассматриваются переводы выбранных 22 фразеологизмов с английского на сербский и русский языки в переводах Я. Рибар-Стоилькович и Н. Демуровой и анализируются их структурно-семантические сходства и различия с устойчивыми выражениями текста оригинала. В Заключении подводятся итоги проведенного исследования и делаются выводы о полученных данных. В Списке использованной литературы перечислены печатные издания и электронные источники, использованные в ходе работы. В Приложении представлен список английских фразеологизмов из повести "Приключения Алисы в Стране Чудес", а также список их сербских и русских эквивалентов. Общий объем работы составляет 103 страницы.

ANNOTATION for a bachelor's degree work in linguistics of Kulikova Yaroslava Dmitriyevna. "English phraseological units translated into Serbian and Russian as illustrated by Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland"" The introduced bachelor's degree work deals with translation of phraseological units from English into Serbian and Russian on the example of the book "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll.The aim of the research is to analyze the similarities and differences between English, Serbian and Russian phraseological units used in the book and its translations, focusing on their lexical and semantic structure. Additionally, this work demonstrates various types of translation methods and techniques. The research consists of an Introduction, a theoretical part (Chapter 1), a practical part (Chapter 2), a Conclusion, a Bibliography and an Appendix. The Introduction contains brief information about the story "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland", identifies the subject, object and objectives of the research, as well as its relevance and practical value. Chapter 1 is the theoretical basis of the research; it consists of the review of various research works in phraseology and the description of different approaches to the definition of phraseological units, their features, functions and classifications. Chapter 2 defines the criteria for assigning certain expressions to phraseology and analyzes the English stable combinations selected from the text of L. Carroll's story from the point of view of their semantic cohesion. Also, this chapter deals with the translation of the selected 22 phraseological units from English into Serbian and Russian in translations of J. Ribar-Stojilkowich and N. Demurova with the analysis of their structural and semantic similarities and differences in comparison with the stable expressions from the original text. The Conclusion sums up the results of the conducted research and draws conclusions about the data obtained. The Bibliography lists printed publications and electronic sources used in the course of the research work. The Appendix contains a list of English phraseological units from the story "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland", as well as a list of their Serbian and Russian equivalents. The total volume of work is 103 pages.
