Means of expressing the author's evaluation in medieval novels as illustrated by "Le Roman de la Rose, ou Guillaume de Dôle" by Jean Renart

Abstract

В выпускной квалификационной работе на тему «Средства выражения авторской оценки в средневековом романе (на материале «Романа о Розе, или о Гильоме из Доля» Жана Ренара) проводится анализ языковых средств выражения авторской оценки в описаниях персонажей рыцарского романа. Материалом для работы послужил текст «Романа о Розе» Жана Ренара. В первой главе раскрываются теоретические основания работы, описываются жанровые особенности средневекового романа, приводятся основные положения, демонстрирующие проявления авторской оценки в тексте. Во второй главе дается анализ языковых средств, посредством которых передается авторская оценка образов персонажей романа. Выделяются лексические, синтаксические и стилистические средства. Заключение подводит итог работы.

In the graduate qualification paper called 'Means of expressing the author's attitude in the medieval romance (on the material of the 'Romance of the Rose or Guillaume de Dole' by Jean Renart'), we analyze the languistic means of expressing the author's attitude in the descriptions of the characters of the chivalric romance. For that purpose we studied the 'Romance of the Rose or Guillaume de Dole' by Jean Renart. In the first chapter, the theoretical foundations of the work are presented, the genre features of the medieval romance are described, the basic positions which reveal the author's attitude in the text are given. In the second chapter we analyze the linguistic means, through which the author's attitude to the characters of the romance is expressed. We underline the lexical, syntactic and stylistic means of expression. In the conclusion we sum up our findings.
