"Maiden's will and woman's trouble": Female characters in the fairytales of the Russian North

Abstract

В нашей магистерской диссертации рассматриваются женские персонажи волшебных сказок Русского Севера. Мы выбираем героинь определённого социовозрастного статуса - девки и молодки, так как такие персонажи широко представлены в волшебных сказках, а так же их описание привлекательно для сказочника. Объект нашего исследования – женские персонажи сказки( девки и молодки) их атрибуты и характеристики.Предмет исследования – проследить как в сказке с помощью атрибутов, характеристик сказочника и поступков женских персонажей возникают их образы. Цель нашей работы – на примере Севернорусских сказок выделить способы формирования образов женских персонажей сказки. В исследовании выполнены следующие задачи: 1) Характеристика русского севера в контексте собирания сказок ; описание особенности записи сказок; рассмотрение комментариев собирателей и биографии сказочников. 2) Рассмотрены имеющиеся в фольклористике подходы к изучению сказочного персонажа и его атрибута 3) Произведён анализ текстов волшебных сказок по атрибутам персонажей, комментариям сказочников к сюжету сказки и способы описания персонажей сказочниками Данная работа будет полезна в дальнейшем для изучения как сказочных персонажей, так и сказочников.

In our master's thesis are considered female characters of fairy tales of the Russian North. We choose the heroines of a certain socio-age status - girls and youngsters, since such characters are widely represented in fairy tales. The subject of our study is the female characters of the fairy tale (girls and youngsters), their attributes and characteristics. The subject of the research is to trace as in a fairy tale with the help of attributes, characteristics Storyteller and the actions of female characters appear their images. The purpose of our work is to identify ways of forming images of female fairy-tale characters using the example of the Northern Fairy tales. Let us formulate the problems that correspond to the three chapters that we derived: 1) To characterize the territory chosen by us, to trace the features of the recording of fairy tales, to consider the comments of the collectors and the sociocultural features of the narrators described in the comments and notes. 2) Consider the approaches available in folklore studies to the study of the fairy-tale character and his attributes 3) The fulfillment of the first two tasks will help us in working with the texts of fairy tales. We will analyze the texts of fairy tales, highlighting the attributes of the characters, the storyteller's comments on their actions and the characteristics that they attribute to them. This work will be useful in the future to study both fairy-tale characters and storytellers.
