The Impact of Audit Characteristics and Board Characteristics on the Corporate Performance of Companies: an Analysis of Public Russian Companies in Relation to the Economic Situation

Задачи: 1. Изучение существующих работ, проверка критерия актуальности; 2. Обзор литературы для получения глубокого понимания темы, а также для обоснования выбора переменных в эмпирическом исследовании; 3. Формулировка гипотез с использованием интересующих критериев; 4. Сбор данных для проведения регрессионного анализа 5. Проведение исследований и проверка гипотез; 6. Формулировка заключений, указание на пользу от данного исследования при использовании результатов на практике. В ходе исследования были получены следующие результаты: Размер совета директоров имеет значительное влияние на рентабельность продаж компаний. Общее увеличение числа членов совета директоров, количество независимых членов при СД приводит к увеличению рентабельности компании, что связано с более эффективным управлением и широким набором компетенций и навыков, доступных при большем числе экспертов. Независимые члены совета директоров обеспечивают защиту интересов стейкхолдеров и благосостояния бизнеса. Численность комитета по аудиту и количество проведенных собраний комитета также имеют прямую связь с рентабельностью компаний. Большее количество членов комитета и проведенных собраний позволяет организовать более качественный процесс аудита, что влияет на анализ деятельности компании и снижение финансовых рисков. Взаимосвязь экономической ситуации с рентабельностью может иметь как прямой, так и обратный характер. Во время пандемии COVID-19 рентабельность компаний испытала негативное воздействие, в то время как в 2018 и 2019 годах было отмечено благоприятное воздействие.

In the course of the study , the following results were obtained: The size of the board of directors has a significant impact on the profitability of sales of companies. The overall increase in the number of members of the Board of Directors, the number of independent members at the Board of Directors leads to an increase in the profitability of the company, which is associated with more efficient management and a wide range of competencies and skills available with a larger number of experts. Independent members of the Board of Directors ensure the protection of the interests of stakeholders and the well-being of the business. The size of the audit committee and the number of meetings held by the committee also have a direct relationship with the profitability of companies. A larger number of committee members and meetings held allows organizing a better audit process, which affects the analysis of the company's activities and the reduction of financial risks. The relationship of the economic situation with profitability can be both direct and reverse. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the profitability of companies experienced a negative impact, while in 2018 and 2019, a favorable impact was noted.
