Implementation of the evaluation category in the Statement of Outstanding Universal Value of World Heritage Sites of the USA

Abstract

Настоящая выпускная квалификационная работа посвящена изучению реализации категории оценки на материале деклараций США о выдающейся универсальной ценности объектов всемирного наследия, размещенных на сайте ЮНЕСКО. В работе применены общенаучные и частнонаучные методы анализа (лингвокультурологический, дефиниционный, контекстуальный, стилистический). Рассматриваются языковые оценочные средства, объективирующие категорию оценки, такие как эпитеты, метафора и реккуренция. Было установлено, что основным экспрессивным средством, в текстах деклараций являются эпитеты, которые которые могут быть классифицированы на характеризующие уникальность, значимость и эстетическую привлекательность объектов. В результате исследования были выявлены различные виды оценок в документации и сделаны выводы о том, что коммуникативные задачи деклараций обуславливают их экспрессивность и использование образных выразительных средств.

The graduation paper deals with the study of the implementation of the category of evaluation based on the material of the United States declarations concerning objects of outstanding universal value of the World Heritage listed on the UNESCO website. The work applies general scientific and special scientific methods of analysis, such as linguoculturological, definitional, contextual, and stylistic approaches. The linguistic means of evaluation that objectify the category of evaluation, such as epithets, metaphor, and recurrence, are considered. It has been established that epithets are the main expressive means in the texts of the declarations, which can be classified as characterizing the uniqueness, significance, and aesthetic appeal of the objects. As a result of the research, various types of evaluations in the documentation were identified, and conclusions were drawn that the communicative tasks of the declarations determine their expressiveness and the use of figurative expressive means.
