Restoration of Pavel Military School cadet uniform in the context of restoration of Russian military costume from the second half of the 19th century

Abstract

Магистерская диссертация посвящена реставрации мундира юнкера Павловского военного училища из собрания Государственного музея-заповедника «Павловск». Пред реставрационные работы включают исследование характеристик военного костюма второй половины 19 века, таких как пошив, материалы и фурнитура. Исследуется их роль в структуре военного костюма и соответственно влияние на степень сохранности костюмов, дошедших до нашего времени. Структура диссертационного исследования включает в себя: Введение, три главы, Заключение, список источников информации, 1 приложение. Во введении содержатся: актуальность исследование, степень разработанности проблемы, объект и предмет исследования, цели и задачи, методика исследования, методы исследования, научная новизна работы, практическая значимость работы, границы исследования, гипотезы, вынесенные на защиту положения, структура диссертации. В первой главе изложены исторические сведения о материалах и пошиве военных мундиров 2 половины XIX века, включающие крой и декорирование обмундирования в Российской империи, производство сукна, его поставки в армию, фурнитуре, её материалах и особенностях производства. Во второй главе рассматриваются исследовательские работы, посвящённые шерсти, красителям, методикам реставрации, консервации и хранения текстиля. В ней выделены результаты современных исследований и рекомендации по подбору методов реставрации и консервации памятника. Третья глава является реставрационным паспортом, посвящена реставрации мундира юнкера Павловского военного училища. Предмет хранится в фонде «Ткани» Государственного музея-заповедника «Павловск», реставрационные работы проводились в мастерских музея-заповедника «Павловск». В заключении обобщается проделанная работа и формулируются выводы по итогу реставрации мундира юнкера Павловского военного училища. Работа включает 114 страниц, 38 рисунков, 1 реставрационный паспорт, 1 приложение; использованных источников – 45.

This master's thesis is devoted to the restoration of the uniform of a junker of the Pavlovsk Military School from the collection of the Pavlovsk State Museum-Reserve. The restoration work includes a study of the characteristics of military costume in the second half of the 19th century, such as tailoring, materials, and fittings. Their role in the structure of military costume and, accordingly, their influence on the degree of preservation of the costumes that have survived to our time is investigated. The structure of the dissertation research includes: Introduction, three chapters, Conclusion, list of sources of information, 1 supplement. The introduction contains: relevance of the research, degree of development of the problem, object and subject of research, goals and objectives, research methodology, research methods, scientific novelty of the work, practical significance of the work, research boundaries, hypotheses, defended provisions, the structure of the thesis. The first chapter gives historical information about the materials and tailoring of military uniform in the second half of the 19th century, including the cutting and decorating of uniforms in the Russian Empire, the production of cloth, its supply to the army, hardware, its materials and peculiarities of production. The second chapter considers research works devoted to wool, dyes, methods of restoration, conservation and storage of textiles. It highlights the results of modern research and recommendations for the selection of methods of restoration and conservation of the monument. The third chapter is a restoration passport, devoted to the restoration of the Pavlovsk Military School junker 's uniform. The uniform is kept in the "Fabrics" collection of the Pavlovsk State Museum-Reserve. The restoration work was carried out in the workshops of the Pavlovsk Museum-Reserve. The conclusion summarizes the work done and draws conclusions on the results of the restoration of the uniform of a cadet of the Pavlovsk Military School. The work is 114 pages, 38 pictures, 1 restorative passport, and 1 supplement; there are 45 references.
