The problems and prospects for the development of health tourism in the Republic of Montenegro

Abstract

Одним из самых быстрорастущих и популярных отраслей туризма в мире является лечебно-оздоровительный туризм. В работе представлены научно-методологические основы лечебно-оздоровительного дела. Рассмотрена история развития лечебно-оздоровительного туризма Черногории. Выявлены его экономическое значение и потенциал развития. Обоснованно, что Черногория имеет большие потенциалы для развития данного вида туризма, которые могут использоваться в гораздо большей степени, чем в настоящее время. В работе также выявлены имеющиеся трудности и перспективы его развития в Черногории. Представлены предложения по развитию лечебно-оздоровительного туризма в Черногории с учётом перспектив курортного хозяйства. Проведено исследование местного населения Черногории. Обоснованно, что население Черногории проявляет большой интерес к лечебно-оздоровительном туризму. Выявлены особенности природных факторов северного региона страны и предложена возможность соединения двух регионов – южного со северным. Результаты исследования опрошенных сельских хозяйств показали заинтересованность в сотрудничестве в целях увеличения и гарантированного заполнения размещения. На основе анализа выявлены недостатки возможного слияния лечебно-оздоровительного с сельским туризмом. Сделан вывод, что их слияние приведёт к созданию дополнительного аутентичного продукта Черногории. Благодаря наличию своих ресурсов и довольно давним традициям, Черногория может стать конкурентоспособной на рынке лечебно-оздоровительного туризма.

Health tourism is one of the fastest growing and most popular tourism industries in the world. The paper presents the scientific and methodological foundations of the health tourism business. The history of the development of health tourism in Montenegro is considered. Its economic significance and development potential are revealed. It is substantiated that Montenegro has great potential for the development of this type of tourism, which can be used to a much greater extent than at present. The paper also identified the existing difficulties and prospects for its development in Montenegro. Proposals are presented for the development of health tourism in Montenegro, taking into account the prospects of the resort economy. A study of the local population of Montenegro was carried out. It is substantiated that the population of Montenegro shows great interest in health tourism. The features of the natural factors of the northern region of the country are revealed and the possibility of connecting two regions - the southern with the northern - is proposed. The results of the study of the interviewed rural households showed an interest in cooperation in order to increase and guarantee the filling of accommodation. Based on the analysis, the shortcomings of a possible merger of health tourism with rural tourism were revealed. It is concluded that their merger will lead to the creation of an additional authentic product of Montenegro. Thanks to the availability of its resources and rather old traditions, Montenegro can become competitive in the market of health tourism.
