Singer of the village folk choir: Status, role, talent

Abstract

Настоящая работа посвящена рассмотрению фигуры запевалы в современном деревенском фольклорном хоре. В исследовании описывается история формирования институции народного деревенского хора, рассматриваются вернакулярные практики пения. Автор анализирует фигуру запевалы в современном деревенском хоре через соотношение конвенций хора как института культуры и вернакулярных певческих практик. В ходе исследования достигаются следующие результаты: народный деревенский хор является искусственно созданным государственным конструктом; в рамках вернакулярного пения запевалу сначала поддерживают старшие, а затем полностью дают в его распоряжение управление голосами коллектива; запевала в современном деревенском хоре вписывается в институциональный императив, и несмотря на то, что народный хор в какой-то степени наследует традицию женских посиделок, в таком коллективе личные интересы запевалы уступают коллективным.

This work is devoted to the consideration of the figure of the leader in the modern village folk choir. The study describes the history of the formation of the institution of the folk village choir, examines the vernacular practices of singing. The author analyzes the figure of the leader in the modern village choir through the correlation of the conventions of the choir as an institution of culture and vernacular singing practices. In the course of the study, the following results are achieved: the folk village choir is an artificially created state construct; within the framework of vernacular singing, the leader is first supported by the elders, and then completely given control of the voices of the collective at his disposal; singing in a modern village choir fits into the institutional imperative, and despite the fact that the folk choir to some extent inherits the tradition of women's gatherings, in such a team the personal interests of the leader are inferior to the collective.
