Functioning of linguistically valuable vocabulary in a work of art: A case study of Tatyana Tolstaya’s stories

Выпускная квалификационная работа магистра лингвистики посвящена изучению лингвострановедчески ценной лексики (безэквивалентных, коннотативных и фоновых лексических единиц) на материале рассказов Т. Толстой «На золотом крыльце сидели», представляющих чрезвычайно важные знания о стране эпохи социализма с характерными для того периода классовыми, социальными, нравственными, эстетическими ориентациями. Отобранный материал классифицирован по тематическому принципу в целях удобства описания и презентации его в иностранной аудитории в соответствии с разработанной лингвострановедческой моделью комментирования на фоне китайского языка. В результате проведенного анализа материала подтверждается гипотеза, что лингвострановедчески ценные лексические единицы выполняют в художественном произведении определенную функцию, в частности, в рассказах Т. Толстой являются средством концептуализации образа жизни человека в эпоху социализма.

The final qualifying work of the Master of Linguistics is devoted to the study of linguistically valuable vocabulary (non-equivalent, connotative and background lexical units) based on the stories of T. Tolstoy "They sat on the golden porch", representing extremely important knowledge about the country and its era of socialism with class, social, moral characteristics of that period, aesthetic orientations. The selected material is classified according to the thematic principle for the convenience of describing and presenting it to a foreign audience in accordance with the developed linguo-cultural model of commenting against the background of the Chinese language. As a result of the analysis of the material, the hypothesis is confirmed that linguoculturally valuable lexical units perform a certain function in a work of art, in particular, in the stories of T. Tolstoy they are a means of conceptualizing the way of life of a person in the era of socialism.
