Boris Shergin's prose: The textology and cyclisation problems

Abstract

Работа посвящена анализу прижизненных сборников произведений Б. Шергина. В ней доказывается, что части сборников являются циклами. Кроме того, в работе использован текстологический анализ текста, в ходе которого сопоставляются различные варианты тех текстов Шергина, которые были опубликованы в нескольких прижизненных сборниках. Результаты анализа показывают, что следует выделять три редакции текстов, различия между которыми объясняются некоторыми фактами биографии писателя. Делается вывод, что в качестве основного источника текстов при дальнейшей публикации произведений Шергина как для структуры сборника, так и для самих текстов должен быть использован предпоследний прижизненный сборник "Запечатленная слава".

The work deals with inter vivos storybooks of Boris Shergin. It proves that the parts of storybooks should be recognised as short story cycles. Furthermore, the work uses the methods of textual criticism to compare different versions of the short stories published in several inter vivos storybooks. The result of the analyses shows that there are three main editions of each story, the difference between which may be explained by some facts of the author's biography. From the research it is possible to conclude that the penultimate storybook of Boris Shergin "Captured Glory" should be used for publishing Shergin's short stories retaining both its structure and the texts themselves.
