The structure of Samuel Beckett's absurdist dramas of the 1950s–1960s

Abstract

Самюэль Беккет по праву считается одним из самых ярких представителей театра абсурда и основателем «новой драмы». Отрицая все классические драматические принципы, он вводит новые драматические приемы, создает новый тип драматического героя, переосмысляет значение слова в драматическом произведении. В данной работе рассматриваются пьесы Самюэля Беккета 1950-1960-х гг. и анализируется их структура. Целью работы является выявление и анализ новаторских драматических структур в абсурдистских драмах Самюэля Беккета. Ранние пьесы Беккета рассматриваются в ключе таких понятий как фабула, персонажи, пространственно-временные отношения, конфигурация сцены и язык драмы. Новизна работы заключается в многостороннем анализе структур драматических произведений Самюэля Беккета.

Samuel Beckett is rightly called one of the best representatives of absurd theater and the founder of «new drama». By denying classic dramatic principles, he introduces new dramatic techniques, creates a new type of dramatic character, rethinks the meaning of words in dramatic production. The object of this work is to analyze Samuel Beckett’ dramas of 1950-1960’s and their structure. The main purpose consists in revelation and analysis of innovative dramatic structures in absurd dramas of Samuel Beckett. In this work dramas are analyzed from the point of view of notions like plot, characters, space and time, configuration and dramatic language. The newness of the work is the multilateral analyze of structures in Samuel Beckett’ dramas.
