The US and European economic sanctions against Russia

Abstract

В 2014 году в связи с решением крымчан о выходе Украины из состава России на референдуме последовали многочисленные экономические санкции против России со стороны США и западных стран. Санкции коснулись сфер энергетики, экономики, военной промышленности и многих других сфер экономики. Россия также ввела ответные санкции. В данной диссертации рассматриваются предпосылки введения санкций в отношении России. Анализируются подходы США и ЕС к ведению санкционной политики. Подробно рассматриваются ответные меры Российской Федерации по отношению к странам проецирующих санкции – США и страны Европейского Союза. По итогам исследования делаются выводы из проведенного анализа.

In 2014, as the people of Crimea decided to leave Ukraine to join Russia in the form of a national referendum, the United States and Western countries began to impose multiple rounds of economic sanctions on Russia. The sanctions affected the energy sector, the economy, the military industry, and many other sectors of the economy. Russia also imposed retaliatory sanctions. This dissertation examines the prerequisites for the introduction of sanctions against Russia. The article analyzes the approaches of the US and EU to the conduct of sanctions policy. The response of the Russian Federation to the countries projecting sanctions – the United States and the European Union-is discussed in detail. Based on the results of the study, conclusions are drawn from the analysis.
