Gender traits translation issues: A case study of Spanish series

Abstract

Магистерская диссертация посвящена изучению перевода феминитивов в аудиовизуальных текстах, а также способам их словообразования и репрезентации в русском и испанском языке. В рамках данной работы были также рассмотрены характеристики аудиовизуального текста и аудиовизуального перевода. В качестве материла для изучения были взят 1 сезон современного испанского сериала «Валерия». В работе были изучены примеры использования и перевода феминитивов. Делаются выводы относительного того, какие переводческие приемы и стратегии применяются в данном случае при переводе феминитивов. Исследование показало, что при сходстве языковых факторов, их использование в речи различно, в следствии чего меняется и перевод. Результаты могут быть использованы как материал студентами-филологами и переводчиками.

The master's thesis is dedicated to the study of the translation of feminitives in audiovisual texts, as well as the ways of their word formation and representation in Russian and Spanish. In the framework of this work, the characteristics of audiovisual text and audiovisual translation were also considered. The first season of the modern Spanish series "Valeria" was taken as a research material. In this paper, we studied examples of the use and translation of feminitives. Conclusions are made regarding what translation techniques and strategies are used in this case when translating feminitives. The study showed that while the linguistic factors are similar, their use in speech is different, as a result of which the translation also changes. The results can be used as material by students of philology and translators.
