Jorge Amado’s play "O Amor do Soldado": Artistic and stylistic originality

Abstract

Пьеса Жоржи Амаду «Любовь солдата». Художественное и стилистическое своеобразие Данная выпускная квалификационная работа посвящена изучению и стилистическому анализу пьесы Жоржи Амаду «Любовь солдата», которая является единственным драматическим произведением автора и до сих пор не была подробно изучена. Автором данной работы была произведена попытка соотнести пьесу Амаду как с другими его произведениями, так и с мировой драматической традицией. В первой главе рассматривается широкий историко-литературный контекст создания данного произведения, даётся обзор развития бразильского театра в 30-40-е годы ХХ века. Во второй главе более подробно анализируется творчества Амаду в указанный период, проводится анализ одного из претекстов пьесы «Любовь солдата» – «АВС о Кастру Алвисе» с точки зрения сюжетных и текстуальных совпадений и различий, а также текст пьесы рассматривается на предмет влияния теории эпического театра Бертольта Брехта.

Jorge Amado’s play "O Amor do Soldado": Artistic and stylistic originality

This thesis deals with the study and stylistic analysis of Jorge Amado's play "O Amor do Soldado" ("The Love of a Soldier"), which is the only dramatic work of the author and has not yet been studied in detail. The author of this thesis has made an attempt to relate the play of Amado both with his other works and with the international dramatic tradition of the twentieth century. The first chapter examines the broad historical and literary context of the creation of this play and provides an overview of the development of Brazilian theater in the 30-40s of the twentieth century. The second chapter analyzes more closely the literary work of Amado in the mentioned period, analyzes one of the pretexts of the play "The Love of a Soldier" - "The ABC of Castro Alvis" from the point of view of the textual coincidences and differences, and also examines the text of the play for the influence of Bertolt Brecht's theory of epic theater.
