В настоящей работе исследуется тема безумия в романе Саши Соколова «Школа для дураков» (1973 г., опубликован в 1976). Феномен безумия всегда представлял интерес для писателей и ученых, заслуживает пристального внимания в настоящее время. Предметом исследования выбраны сюжетные, стилистические, мотивные, тематические и интертекстуальные особенности прозы Саши Соколова. Цель работы – исследование и описание особенностей и приемов, с по-мощью которых решена тема безумия в романе Саши Соколова «Школа для дураков». Анализируется связь сюжета с теориями о безумии, в частности, о ши-зофрении, рассматриваются проявления темы безумия на разных уровнях романа. Прослеживается литературная эволюция в изображении умственных и психических отклонений в различных литературных направлениях (вплоть до постмодернизма), исходя из тезисов теоретических работ по этой пробле-ме, написанных К. Ясперсом, М. Нордау, В. М. Бехтеревым, М. Фуко, А. М. Панченко, М. М. Бахтиным, В. П. Рудневым, Ю. М. Лотманом, И. П. Смирновым, М. Н. Липовецким, Н. Л. Лейдерманом, О. В. Богдановой, М. А. Зиминой, В. Тумановым, Е. В. Шабалдиной и другими учеными. Выяв-ляются аспекты влияния сюжетов, характеров, мотивов на прозу Саши Соко-лова, традиционные и новаторские приемы в его первом романе. Материалами исследования являются произведения, в которых наибо-лее выразительно с точки зрения сюжета и нарратива затронута тема безумия – от немецкого и русского романтизма к реализму, символизму, авангарду, модернизму и постмодернизму. Методология диссертационной работы включает сравнительный, куль-турно-исторический, типологический методы изучения текста с элементами структурного, мотивного и интертекстуального анализа. Работа состоит из введения, двух глав, разделенных на параграфы, за-ключения и библиографического списка использованной литературы. Во введении определены актуальность и новизна работы, предмет и объ-ект анализа, материалы, цель и задачи исследования, теоретическая база. В первой главе проводится обзор теоретических работ о феномене безу-мия как такового и изображенного в художественной литературе; дается об-щая характеристика постмодернистского творчества и романа «Школа для дураков»; приводятся критические отзывы о произведении. Во второй главе осуществлен анализ романа с точки зрения того, как проявляется тема безумия на следующих уровнях: сюжетном (с включением категории мотива), нарративном, образном, уровнях персонажей, хронотопа, композиции. Рассмотрены варианты значений заглавия. Доказано, что многие персонажи многомерны. Выявлен мотив замкнутого круга, по которому ор-ганизованы мышление Нимфеи и его повествование и который реализуется на уровне хронотопа, и поставлен вопрос о том, удалось ли герою из него вырваться. Опровергнута однозначная невозможность влияния прозы В. В. Набокова и предложена рабочая гипотеза об опосредованном влиянии этого писателя на сюжеты, поэтику, приемы и образы романа. Обосновываются выводы о традиционных и новаторских приемах Соколова. В заключении сделан вывод о том, что конец романа дает читателям не-однозначную трактовку происшедшего с главным героем и его умственных и творческих способностей. Обозначено возможное направление дальнейшей работы.

In the present work the theme of insanity in the novel “A School for Fools” (1973, published in 1976) by Sasha Sokolov is being explored. The phenomenon of madness has always been of interest to writers and scholars, deserves close at-tention at the present. The subject of study was chosen as narrative, stylistic, motivic, thematic and intertextual features of prose by Sasha Sokolov. The aim of the thesis is the study and description of the features of the theme of madness and techniques used to solve the theme of madness in the novel “A School for Fools” by Sasha Sokolov. We analyze the connection of the plot with theories about insanity, in particular, about schizophrenia, and consider manifestations of the theme of madness at different levels of the novel. A literary evolution is being traced in the depiction of mental disorders in a variety of literary movements and schools/ trends (up to/ including postmodernism) on the basis of theoretical works on this problem, written by Karl Jaspers, Max Nordau, V. Bekhterev, M. Foucault, A. Panchenko, M. Bakhtin, V. Rudnev, Yury Lotman, I. Smirnov, M. Lipovetsky, N. Leiderman, O. Bogdanova, M. Zimina, V. Tumanov, E, Shabaldina and other researchers. Some aspects of the impact of the stories, characters and motives in the prose of Sasha Sokolov, traditional and innovative methods in his first novel are identified. Materials of research are works that in the most expressive way in terms of plot and narrative broached the topic of madness (from the European and Russian romanticism to realism, symbolism, avant-garde, modernism and postmodernism). The methodology of the thesis includes comparative, cultural-historical, typological methods of studying the text with elements of the structural, motivic and intertextual analysis. The thesis consists of an introduction, two chapters, divided into paragraphs, conclusion and bibliography of references. In the introduction the relevance and novelty of the work, the subject and object of analysis, materials, purpose and objectives of the study, the theoretical basis are defined. The first chapter provides an overview of the theoretical work on the phenomenon of madness as a whole and depicted in fiction; there is a general characteristic of postmodern art and of the novel "A School for Fools"; also critical feedback on the book is quoted. In the second chapter an analysis is being carried out from the perspective of how to manifest insanity topic at the following levels: plot (with the inclusion of the category of motive), narrative, figurative, at the levels of characters, time-space dimension, and composition. Some variants of the title are considered. We proved that many characters are multidimensional. The motive of the vicious circle is revealed, which organizes the mode of Nymphea’s thinking and his narrative and which is implemented at the level of time-space dimension, and there was the question raised whether it was possible the hero to escape from there. A clear inability to influence the prose of Vladimir Nabokov was denied, and we proposed a working hypothesis about the indirect influence of this writer on the plots, poetics, techniques and characters of the novel. The conclusions about Sokolov’s traditional and innovative techniques are being proved. The conclusion summarizes that the end of the novel gives readers an ambiguous interpretation of what happened with the main character and his mental and creative abilities. Then a possible direction of future work was indicated.
