Modeling of two-sided markets and platforms

Abstract

В данной работе представлен анализ теоретических и эмпирических исследований двусторонних рынков и платформ. Помимо этого, в ней предложен метод определения ценности платформ двустороннего рынка. Данный метод, с одной стороны, учитывает ключевую особенность платформ – наличие перекрестных сетевых эффектов, с другой стороны, позволяет определить потенциал платформы. Предложенный метод был апробирован на платформе App Store.

This paper presents an analysis of theoretical and empirical studies of two-sided markets and platforms. In addition, it proposes a method for evaluation of two-sided platforms. This method, on the one hand, takes into account a key feature of two-sided platforms - cross-side effects, on the other hand, enables the determination of platform’s potential. The proposed method has been tested on the App Store platform.
