Assessment of the flooded area as a result of the destruction of earth dams

Abstract

Исследование направлено на оценку территории затопления в результате разрушения грунтовых плотин. В качестве примера, в работе использованы озера Тимбер в штате Вирджиния в США и озеро Ситу Гинтунг в Индонезии. Для расчета расходов воды в створе плотины при прорыве использовалась методика РД 03-607-03, а для получения площадей затопления модель HEC-RAS. В результате площадь затопления после прорыва озера Тимбер и озера Ситу Гинтунг составила 3,54 кв. км и 3,10 кв. км соответственно.

The study aims to assess the area of flooding as a result of the earth dam failure. As an example, the work used Timberlake in Virginia in the USA and Lake Situ Gintung in Indonesia. The water flow in the dam cross-section during breakthrough was calculated using RD 03-607-03, and the HEC-RAS model was used to define flooded areas. As a result, the flooded area after the dam failure of Timberlake and Lake Situ Gintung was 3.54 square kilometers and 3.10 square kilometers respectively.
