Opinion journalism on Stalinism as a practice of experiencing collective trauma from 1987 to 1990

Abstract

Актуальность данного исследования обусловлена тем, что в современном российском обществе до сих пор не сформировано однозначное отношение к периоду сталинизма. Например, в 2017 году, с одной стороны, открылся мемориал жертвам репрессий, на открытии которого много раз сказали о важности памяти. С другой стороны, в Московском юридическом университете появилась мемориальная доска Сталину, Владимир Путин высказался против «демонизации Сталина», а глава ФСБ Александр Бортников заявил, что во многих случаях репрессии были оправданы. Существуют исследования, посвященные отражению сталинизма как коллективной травмы в российской культуре, например, в кино или литературе. Однако в работе впервые делается попытка изучить с этой точки зрения журналистику. В этом заключается научная новизна исследования. Объектисследования –публицистика журналов «Новый мир», «Знамя», «Огонёк» в период 1987-1990 годов. Предмет исследования – отражение коллективной травмы сталинизма в этих публикациях. Цель работы –выяснить, как коллективная травма сталинизма формировала нарративы рассматриваемых публикаций. Задачи работы: - описать экономическую, политическую и культурную стороны сталинизма; - описать, как функционировала журналистика в эпоху перестройки; - рассмотреть общие законы функционирования публицистики; - описать подходы к определению понятия «коллективная травма»; - проанализировать механизмы работы с коллективной травмой; - рассмотреть особенности функционирования коллективной травмы сталинизма в России. В исследовании использованы методы анализа, синтеза, классификации. Материалы отбирались методом сплошной выборки. Теоретическую базу составили работы таких отечественных и зарубежных специалистов, как О. В. Хлевнюк, П. Грегори, Е. С. Щелкунова, В. В. Учёнова, О. Мороз, А. Ассман, А. Эткинд, Д. ЛаКапра, Дж. Александер и др. Эмпирическую базу составили выпуски журналов «Новый мир», «Знамя», «Огонёк» за 1987-1990гг. Дипломная работа состоит из введения, трёх глав и заключения. Во введении определяется основная цель и задачи исследования. Первая глава посвящена особенностям рассматриваемых исторических периодов. Во второй главе раскрывается понятие «коллективная травма». В третьей главе анализируется влияние коллективной травмы на публицистику. В заключении подводятся итоги проведенного исследования и формируются основные выводы.

The relevance of this study is due to the fact that in the Russian society a unilateral evaluation of the Stalin era has not yet been formulated. For instance, in the year 2017 another memorial in memory of Stalin’s repressive campaigns’ victims was opened, and during the ceremony the importance of remembering the repressions has been clearly articulated. On the other hand, a memorial plaque of Stalin has been installed in the Moscow State Law University, Russian President Vladimir Putin decried “the demonisation of Stalin” and the FSB chairman Alexander Bortnikov claimed, that in many cases the repressions had not been ungrounded. There are currently some researches describing reflection of the Stalinism as of a collective trauma in Russian art including cinema and literature. Yet there haven’t been such a research from a journalistic perspective. It constitutes the scientific novelty of the research. The object of the study is opinion journalism in the magazines of “Noviy mir”, “Znamya” and “Ogonyek” in the years of 1987-1990. The subject of the study is the reflection of the collective trauma of Stalinism in these articles. The purpose of the work is to understand how the trauma of Stalinism forged the narratives of the articles. Objectives of the work: - to describe the economical, political and cultural sides of Stalinism - to describe the functioning of the Perestroika journalism - to describe the ways of defining the definition “collective trauma” - to analyse the mechanisms of working with a collective trauma - To study the features of the functioning of the collective trauma of Stalinism in Russia. The theoretical methods involved in this study include analysis, synthesis and generalisation. The articles have been picked by thecontinuous sampling method. The theoretical basis was made by the works of such specialists as O. Khlevniuk, P. Gregory, V. Uchenova, O. Moroz, A. Assman, A. Atkind, D. LaCapra, J. Alexander and others. Empirical base is composed of editions of magazines Novy Mir, Znamya and Ogoniok in the years 1987-1990. The thesis consists of an introduction, three chapters, a conclusion and a bibliography. The introduction defines the main goal and objectives of the study. The first chapter is devoted to the features of the presented historical periods. The second chapterdeals with the definition “a collective trauma”. The third chapter analyses the influence of the trauma in the opinion journalism. In conclusion, the results of the study are summarised and the main conclusions are formed.
