Fixed comparisons in describing a person's character in Russian (in contrast to Chinese): Functional semantic aspect

Abstract

Магистерская работа посвящена исследованию устойчивых сравнений, которые используются при описании характера человека. На основе разработанной автором идеографической классификации раскрываются семантические и функциональные особенности данных единиц в русском языке; особое значение уделяется их соответствию китайским аналогам. Сопоставление устойчивых сравнений в разных языках позволяет обозначить их сходства и различия и на этой основе выявить разницу не только в оценке черт характера человека, но и в сложившихся традиционных представлениях у представителей русской и китайской культуры. Работа может быть полезна филологам, преподавателям русского языка как иностранного, учащимся, которые изучают русский или китайский языки, а также тем, кто интересуется лингвокультурологией.

The master's thesis is devoted to the study of fixed comparisons, which are used in describing a person’s character. On the basis of the ideographic classification developed by the author, the semantic and functional features of these units in the Russian language are revealed; special importance is attached to their conformity with the Chinese analogues. Collation of fixed comparisons in different languages allows us to identify their similarities and differences as well as reveal the differences not only in the evaluation of the character traits of a person, but also in the traditional ideas that have developed in the representatives of Russian and Chinese culture based on these similarities and differences. Тhis work could be useful for linguists, teachers, students who learn Russian or Chinese, and also those who are interested in linguistics and culture studies.
