Use of software methods for the statistical justification of phono-semantic hypotheses

Abstract

Данная выпускная квалификационная работа посвящена статистическому подтверждению фонасемантических гипотез. В частности, рассматриваются гипотезы об использовании лабиальных при обозначении округлого, гипотезы об использовании гласных с наиболее различными частотными характеристиками при обозначении большого и малого. Основной целью работы является поиск связей между различными фонотипами и семантическими полями.

The final qualifying work is devoted to the statistical evidence of the phonosemantic hypotheses such as "labial consonants and rounded vowels are frequently used in the designation of round objects" and "low back vowels and voiced consonants are predominant in the expression of “big” while high front vowels and voiceless consonants are more common in the designation of “small”", etc. The main task is to discover relations between different phonotypes and semantic fields.
