Patina as a kind of artistic surface treatment of works of decorative and applied art

Abstract

Многие художники и скульпторы используют патину как неотъемлемую часть образа художественного произведения, которая может иметь разные цвета и оттенки в зависимости от поставленной художественной задачи. В работе рассмотрена проблема изменения художественной патины в условиях современной агрессивной среды и возможность ее сохранения с помощью защитно-консервирующих реставрационных покрытий. Проведён исследовательский опрос среди художников, скульпторов, реставраторов. Это позволило изучить современные представления профессионалов к художественным патинам и различным защитным покрытиям. Изучены различные рецепты патин. Изготовлены образцы из меди и латуни. Проведен практический эксперимент по нанесению искусственных патин и реставрационных покрытий. Образцы были протестированы в течение 30 дней в условиях четырёх агрессивных сред:. На основании эксперимента проведена оценка влияния воздействия агрессивных сред, определена различная устойчивость художественных патин к изменениям, и эффективность защитных свойств реставрационных покрытий.

Many artists and sculptors use the patina as an integral part of the image of a work of art, which can have different colors and shades depending on the artistic task. The paper considers the problem of changing artistic patina in the conditions of the modern aggressive environment and the possibility of its preservation with the help of protective-preserving restoration coatings. A survey was conducted among artists, sculptors, restorers. This allowed us to study modern representations of professionals to art patinas and various protective coatings. Various recipes for patin have been studied. Samples made of copper and brass are made. A practical experiment on the application of artificial patina and restoration coatings was carried out. Samples were tested for 30 days under conditions of four aggressive media :. On the basis of the experiment, the impact of aggressive media was assessed, various resistance of artistic pathes to changes, and the effectiveness of the protective properties of restoration coatings were determined.
