Pragmatic aspects of the translation of legal discourse in D. Grisham’s novels

Abstract

Выпускная квалификационная работа посвящена теме "Прагматические аспекты перевода юридического дискурса в романах Дж. Гришэма". Объем работы составляет 79 страниц. Материалом исследования послужили романы Дж. Гришэма "Дело о пеликанах","Невиновный" и "Пора убивать", а также их переводы на английский язык, выполненные Валентином Пурескиным, Ириной Дорониной и Юрием Кирьяком соответственно. ВКР состоит из введения, двух глав с выводами, заключения, списка литературы и приложения. Во введении раскрывается актуальность исследования, ставится цель и задачи, определяются объект и предмет научных поисков. В первой главе раскрываются теоретические подходы к изучению юридического дискурса и прагматических аспектов перевода. Во второй главе анализируются приемы прагматической адаптации, к которым прибегают переводчики для передачи элементов юридического дискурса на русский язык. В заключении подводятся итоги исследования.В приложении приводится процентное соотношение итогов исследования.

Graduate qualification work considers the topic "Pragmatic aspects of legal discourse translations in John Grisham's novels". The length of the work is 79 pages. John Grisham's novels "A Time to Kill", "The Innocent Man: Murder and Injustice in a Small Town" and "The Pelican Brief" and three translations of these novels made by Y. Kiryak, I. Doronina and V. Pureskin respectively served as the material for the study. Graduate qualification work consists of the introduction, two chapters with summaries, the conclusion and the application. The introduction reveals the relevance of the work, sets purpose and objectives of the study and defines the subject and the object of the study. The first chapter of the work considers different theoretical approaches to the study of legal discourse and pragmatic aspects of translation. Means of pragmatic adaptation which the translators of the novels use to translate legal discourse elements into Russian are analyzed in the second chapter of the work. The summary of the work is given in the conclusion.The application gives the percentage of the results of the study.
