The artistic representation of ageing in Albert Stifter's work

Abstract

В данной работе с опорой на методологию гендерных исследований и некоторые положения ageing-studies рассматривается мотив "увядающей" женской красоты в произведениях австрийского писателя Адальберта Штифтера (1805-1868)"Бабье лето" (1857) и "Бригитта" (1847), в которых проблематизируются два ключевых гендерных стереотипа: "красота" и "молодость" как атрибуты "женственности". В центре рассмотрения стоят образы Матильды и Бригитты как репрезентации эротически притягательных пожилых женщин, разрушающие гендерные стереотипы бидермейера и реализма. Особое внимание в своих новеллах Адальберт Штифтер уделяет старинным вещам. В данной работе рассматривается "мир вещей" писателя, которому он приписывает в своих произведениях сакральный характер. Вещи у А. Штифтера обладают особым психологизмом и несут в себе код человеческого бытия, передавая культурно-исторический и жизненный опыты из поколения в поколение. Уникальный мир изображаемых Штифтером предметов старины передаёт дыхание эпох и способствует организации художественного пространства в произведениях автора.

In this work the motive of "fading" woman's beauty relying on gender research methodology and certain provisions of ageing-studies is considered in the noveles by Austrian classic Adalbert Stifter (1805-1868) "Indian Summer" (1857) and "Brigitta" (1847), in which two key gender stereotypes are disputed: the "beauty" and the "youth" as attributes of femininity. The study focuses on Mathilda's and Brigitta's images as a representation of erotically attractive elderly woman breaking gender stereotypes of Biedermeier and realism. Adalbert Stifter pays special attention to the old things in his noveles. In this study the world of things is considered in the noveles by Adalbert Stifter, to which he attributes the sacred character. A. Stifter's things have a special psychologism and carry in themselves the code of human existence, conveying the cultural-historical and life experience from generation to generation. The unique world of Stifter's antiquities conveys the breath of the age and promotes the organization of a fictional space in the noveles by A. Stifter.
