Contemporary policies of the United States, Russia, and China on the North Korean nuclear problem

Abstract

Магистерская диссертация посвящена политике США, РФ и КНР в отношении ядерной проблемы КНДР на современном этапе. Целью исследования является определение сущностных черт политики США, РФ и КНР в отношении ядерной программы КНДР и выявлении общего и различного политических и дипломатических подходов трех стран. Диссертационное исследование выполнено на основе исторического подхода,сравнительного анализа и системного подхода. Актуальность исследования обуславливается сложностью, нерешенностью и важностью ядерной программы КНДР для АТР и для мира в целом. Несмотря на усилия, которые предпринимаются заинтересованными сторонами, включая РФ, КНР и США, урегулирование до сих пор не найдено. Ядерные испытания КНДР являются большим ударом по усилиям стран, которые направлены на недопущение распространения оружия массового поражения. В работе особое внимание уделяется анализу истоков и причин возникновения северо-корейской проблемы с момента окончания холодной войны, попыткам урегулирования возникавших кризисов вокруг полуострова и роли прямых и косвенных участников (США, РФ, КНР) мирового сообщества в данном вопросе.

The master's thesis is devoted to contemporary policies of the United States, Russia and China on the North Korean nuclear problem. The purpose of the study is to identify the essential features of the US, Russia and China policies with regard to the DPRK nuclear program and to identify common and different political and diplomatic approaches of the three countries. The dissertation research was carried out on the basis of historical approach, comparative analysis and system approach. The relevance of the study is due to the complexity, unresolved and important nuclear program of the DPRK for the Asia-Pacific region and for the world as a whole. Despite the efforts made by the parties concerned, including the Russian Federation, China and the US, a settlement has not yet been found. The nuclear tests of the DPRK are a big blow to the efforts of countries that are aimed at preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. The paper focuses on the analysis of the origins and causes of the North Korean problem since the end of the Cold War, attempts to resolve the emerging crises around the peninsula and the role of direct and indirect participants (the US, Russia, China) in the world community in this matter.
