A comparative analysis of the attitudes of Great Britain, the USA, and the USSR towards the German question (1949–1953)

Abstract

Цель магистерской диссертации – определить позиции правительств США, Великобритании и СССР в германском вопросе. Для достижения целей были поставлены следующие задачи: 1. Выявить позиции СССР и США с Великобританией на германский вопрос; 2. Рассмотреть предпосылки возникновения разногласий между правительствами стран-участниц антигитлеровской коалиции; 3. Исследовать специфику реализации Потсдамских соглашений на территории западных и советской оккупационных зонах; Методологические основы исследования. За основу брались исторический, логический и сравнительный методы исследования. Хронологические рамки исследования. Автор анализирует политику США, Великобритании и СССР, начиная с августа 1941 г. (первая встреча Великобритании и США и подписание Атлантической Хартии) и заканчивая смертью Сталина в 1953 г., которая кардинально поменяла дальнейшую внешнюю и внутреннюю политику СССР. Автор разделяет каждую главу на две части. В первом параграфе рассматриваются планы глав стран-участниц антигитлеровской коалиции и предпосылки для урегулирования германского вопроса вплоть до образования ФРГ и ГДР. Во втором параграфе каждой главы описывается политика западных держав после образования двух новых государств.

The purpose of the master thesis is to determine the positions of the governments of the United States, Britain and the Soviet Union in the German question. To achieve the goals we set the following tasks: 1. To identify the position of the USSR and the USA with Britain on the German question; 2. To consider the prerequisites of a dispute between the governments of the countries participating in the anti-Hitler coalition; 3. To explore the specific implementation of the Potsdam agreements on the territory of Western and Soviet occupation zones; Methodological basis of the study. Basing on the historical, logical and comparative methods of research. Chronological framework of the study. The author analyzes the policy of the United States, great Britain and the Soviet Union since August 1941 (the first meeting of the UK and the USA and the signing of the Atlantic Charter) and ending with the death of Stalin in 1953 that radically changed the future domestic and foreign policy of the USSR. The author divides each Chapter into two parts. In the first paragraph discusses the plans of the heads of countries-participants of anti-Hitler coalition and the preconditions for the settlement of the German question up to the formation of the FRG and the GDR. In the second section of each Chapter describes the policy of the Western powers after the formation of two new States.
