Transformation of epistolary genre in Mikhail Shishkin's novel "Letter Book"

Abstract

Главный предмет дипломной работы, современный эпистолярный роман Михаила Шишкина «Письмовник», представляет собой нетипичное произведение не только в эпистолярном жанре, но и в современной литературе в целом. Работа состоит из введения, 4 глав, 11 подпунктов и заключения. Роман был рассмотрен в контексте других эпистолярных произведений для того, чтобы выявить и объяснить его особенности, такие как обманчивая рассогласованность частей романа, односторонность переписки и несовпадение реалий мира двух персонажей. Таким образом целостность романа была сохранена при помощи внутренних аллюзий, кажущаяся односторонность переписки опровергнута мотивацией главных героев, а отличающиеся реалии были объяснены посредством диегетической конструкции, которую создаёт автор. Помимо этого обрисовано пространство персонажей, которое окружает его и её, события, которые происходят в этих мирах и их деление на ретроспекции, синхронные события и совместные воспоминания, а также рассмотрены отсылки к другим произведениям.

The main subject of the Bachelor thesis is a contemporary epistolary Michail Shishkin’s novel - “Letter Book.” The thesis consists of the introduction, four chapters, eleven sub-points and the conclusion. Not only is the novel an unique piece of writing among epistolary novels but also among modern literature in the whole. The text was put in a context of other epistolary novels in order to find out and explain its features such as an illusive miscommunication, one-sidedness of the epistolary intercourse and the disparities in culture-specific elements of the characters. Consequently, the wholeness of the text was saved by means of the inner allusions, a specious one-sidedness was confuted due to the motivation of the protagonists and discrepant realias were explained with the help of the diegesis which the author creates. Apart from these points the space of characters which surrounds them, the happenings which take place in his and her world and the references to other writings were observed as well.
