The relationship between social capital, transaction costs and organisational outcomes

Abstract

Goal - to find and examine the relationship between 3 elements: social capital, transaction costs, and organizational outcomes. Main objectives: Explore the concept of human capital; Classify and analyze main social capital theorie; Determine relationships between human capital and social capital; Explain “bridging” and “bonding” forms of social capital; Identify advantages and disadvantages of social capital; Suggest tools for social capital measurement; Explore the concept of transaction costs and performance outcomes: Conduct the survey among European students and graduates: Analyze statistically the data obtained; Discuss the results and compare them with the existing research findings; Suggest the opportunities for future development of the topic and possible implications of the results on the organizational level. Key finding - significant relation between social capital and both transaction costs and organizational outcomes was found and proved.
