The image of Sun Wukong: Its genesis in literature from the 14th to the 20th centuries

Abstract

Работа посвящена генезису образа царя обезьян Сунь Укуна в литературных произведениях XIV - XX вв. Образ Сунь Укуна анализируется на основе романа У Чэнъэня "Путешествие на Запад", пьесы Ян Цзинсяня "Путешествие на Запад", романа "После Путешествия на Запад", пьесы "Переполох в Небесных чертогах", а также ряда других произведений, созданных в рассматриваемый период, и работ крупных китайских, европейских, американских и отечественных историков китайской литературы. Для анализа привлекались также некоторые произведения современной китайской массовой культуры. В работе рассматривается бытование образа Сунь Укуна как феномена светского художественного творчества, но кроме того говорится и об элементах обожествления данного литературного персонажа.

The graduate paper is dedicated to the genesis of the image of the Monkey King Sun Wukong in literature from the 14th to the 20th centuries. The analysis of the Sun Wukong's image is based on the novel 'Journey to the West', written by Wu Cheng'en, the play 'Journey to the West', written by Yang Jingxian, the novel 'After Journey to the West', the play 'Uproar in Heaven' and some other literary works, created in this period, and also on the researches of the outstanding Chinese, European, American and Russian historians of Chinese literature. The graduate paper analyses the existance of the image of Sun Wukong as a phenomenon of secular pieces of art and also pays attention on some elements of deification of this literary character.
