Данная работа посвящена вопросам, которые не нашли достаточного отражения в отечественной и зарубежной (в частности, американской) исследовательской литературе. Речь идет об изучении понятия «пресса Капитолийского холма», типологической характеристике данного типа изданий, а также освещении внутренней политики США в этих СМИ. Под термином «пресса Капитолийского холма» можно понимать периодические издания, которые тесно связаны с Капитолийским холмом и освещают деятельность федеральной власти. Интерес к данной группе СМИ во многом объясняется тем, что эти издания играют важную роль в политической жизни США – данные СМИ читают, в первую очередь, политики, основные нюсмейкеры и люди, влияющие на ход событий в стране. Эти издания нередко используют особые эксклюзивные источники информации (приближенные к тем, кто принимает важные для политики США решения), что выгодно отличает их от ряда других американских СМИ. Авторами данных изданий являются политологи, профессора университетов, что указывает на стремление редакции к серьезному анализу событий. В этих изданиях особое внимание уделяется работе и решениям Конгресса – законодательного органа власти США. Издания Капитолийского холма нередко выступают ньюсмейкерами, задают информационную повестку дня для других СМИ. Степень научной разработанности темы. Различные аспекты темы работы затрагивались многими исследователями. В работах Н. М. Травкиной и Д. С. Коршунова освещаются вопросы взаимодействия Конгресса США с Белым домом и иностранными государствами, они обращаются к осмыслению феномена Капитолийского холма в политике и общественной жизни США. Истории Капитолийского холма уделяли также внимание М. Джексон и В. Патирсэн. Исследования Д. Н. Христенко представляют интерес с точки зрения понимания современной бюджетной политики Конгресса и ее отражения в американских средствах массовой информации. В. Ховард, С. Кернел и Г. Джакобсон, Т. Кук в своих работах анализировали взаимодействие Конгресса США с прессой и телевидением. Истории развития американской журналистики, типологическим характеристикам американских СМИ уделяли внимание С. А. Михайлов, М. И. Макеенко. При этом необходимо отметить, что особенностям прессы Капитолийского холма в известных автору работах не уделяется достаточного внимания. Цель работы – выявление подходов к освещению внутренней политики США в прессе Капитолийского холма. Для достижения поставленной цели необходимо решить следующие задачи: - раскрыть значение феномена Капитолийского холма для американской политики и журналистики; - рассмотреть типологические и функциональные особенности прессы Капитолийского холма; - проанализировать освещение внутренней политики Соединенных Штатов Америки в изданиях Капитолийского холма (“The Hill”, “The Roll Call”и др.). Объектом работы является пресса Капитолийского холма. Предмет исследования – освещение внутренней политики США прессой Капитолийского холма. Эмпирической базой послужили тексты изданий “The Hill” и “The Roll Call” за период с ноября 2016 года по апрель 2017 года. Выбор данных хронологических рамок исследования обусловлен тем, что 8 ноября 2016 г. в США прошли выборы в Сенат (Верхнюю палату Конгресса), в результате которых Республиканская партия получила контроль над обеими палатами. Это отразилось на деятельности американского законодательного органа и, как следствие, на внутренней политике США в целом. Соответственно, данные события повлияли также на информационные приоритеты изданий Капитолийского холма, чья деятельность во многом сопряжена с освещением деятельности американских законодателей. К методам исследования использованным в работе, относятся анализ (источников, данных и т.д.), синтез (полученной информации), сравнительный метод. Структура работы. Работа включает в себя введение, три главы, заключение, список литературы. Первая глава – «Феномен Капитолийского холма в американской политике и журналистике» – посвящена изучению понятия «Капитолийский холм», истории Капитолийского холма, сопряженности феномена с журналистскими процессами. Во второй главе – «Издания капитолийского холма: типологические и функциональные особенности» – исследуются и систематизируются данные о прессе Капитолийского холма, выделяются ее основные типологические и функциональные характеристики. В третьей главе – «Анализ освещения внутренней политики США изданиями Капитолийского холма» – анализируется освещение внутренней политики Соединенных Штатов на примере изданий “The Hill” и “The Roll Call”.

The term "Capitol Hill press" can be understood as periodicals closely associated with the Capitol Hill and highlight the activities of the federal government. Interest in this group of media is largely due to the fact that these publications play an important role in the political life of the United States - these media are primarily read by politicians, key newsmakers and people influencing the course of events in the country. These publications often use special exclusive sources of information (close to those who make decisions important for US policy), which distinguishes them from a number of other American media. The authors of these publications are political scientists, university professors, which indicates the editorial aspiration for a serious analysis of events. In these publications, special attention is paid to the work and decisions of the Congress - the legislative body of the US government. The editions of Capitol Hill often act as newsmakers, ask an information agenda for other media. The degree of scientific elaboration of the topic. At the same time, it should be noted that the press features of the Capitol Hill are not given sufficient attention in the author's works. The goal of the work is to identify approaches to coverage of US domestic policy in the press of Capitol Hill. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to solve the following tasks: - to reveal the significance of the phenomenon of Capitol Hill for American politics and journalism; - to consider the typological and functional features of the Capitol Hill press; - analyze the coverage of the domestic policy of the United States of America in the publications of Capitol Hill ("The Hill", "The Roll Call", etc.). The object of work is the press of Capitol Hill. The subject of the study is the coverage of US domestic policy by the press of Capitol Hill. The empirical base was the texts of "The Hill" and "The Roll Call" for the period from November 2016 to April 2017. Choice of the chronological framework of the study is due to the fact that on November 8, 2016 elections to the Senate (the Upper House of Congress) were held in the US, as a result of which the Republican Party gained control over both chambers. This affected the activities of the American legislature and, as a consequence, the domestic policy of the United States as a whole. Accordingly, these events have also affected the information priorities of the publications of Capitol Hill, whose activities are largely related to coverage of US lawmakers. Methods of research used in the work include analysis (sources, data, etc.), synthesis (information obtained), a comparative method. Structure of the work. The work includes an introduction, three chapters, a conclusion, a list of literature. The first chapter - "The phenomenon of the Capitol Hill in American politics and journalism" - is devoted to the study of the concept of "Capitol Hill", the history of the Capitol Hill, the conjugation of the phenomenon with journalistic processes. In the second chapter - "Capitol Hill editions: typological and functional features" - the data on the press of the Capitol Hill are systematized and systematized, its main typological and functional characteristics are highlighted. In the third chapter, "Analysis of the coverage of US domestic policy by the editions of Capitol Hill", we analyze the coverage of the domestic policy of the United States by the example of The Hill and The Roll Call.
