Iconic elements of a poetic text in the original and in the translation: Evidence from English poetry translated into Russian

Abstract

В настоящей работе исследуются роль и аспекты фоносемантических элементов поэтического текста и проблемы их перевода. Передача фонетических особенностей при переводе предстает сложной задачей. Особенно это касается поэтических тектов, В данном случае важно учитывать сохранение общего образа и системы ассоциаций. В данной работе сравниваются английский текст и русскоязычный перевод в аспекте передачи звуковой изобразительности.

In the centre of the thesis is the study of the role and aspects of phonosemantic elements of poetic text and the issues of the translation of the elements. The transmission of the phonetic characteristics while translation is a difficult task. Especially the problem concerns poetic texts. In this terms the transmission of the general image and chain of associations is important. In the thesis English text and its translation into Russian are compared in order to analyze the transmission of the iconic elements.
